Connect Off the Court

Her Next Play partnered with Tackle What’s Next, and WISE (Women in Sports and Events) Twin Cities and DC chapters for a virtual roundtable mentoring and networking event. We were lucky to have five inspiring women leaders on board - Natalie Allport, Founder of 93 Agency and Former Canadian National Team Snowboarder; Marci Sadler, residential and commercial redeveloper and former NCAA D1 runner; Adrienne Jordan, strategic planning senior consultant at The Prouty Project and former NCAA Basketball player; Megan Gunderson, Vice President of Marketing for the Minnesota United and former NCAA Soccer Player; and Christy Grady-Murray, EVP of Business Development at Sportsdigita and former NCAA Basketball player and manager.

We had over 100 people register to participate in discussions and engage with this empowering group of women! Our conversations focused on how these former student-athletes have become executives in the fields of branding, consulting, sports, business, and more. We split into multiple break out rooms to give everyone the opportunity to engage with each other and ask questions in smaller groups.

Networking is an extremely important part of career building – not only were attendees able to hear from these five inspiring women, but they were able to talk with one another and share stories and get advice on their career aspirations.

This event was a part of our Career Accelerator Network which is focused bringing together a powerful network of current and former student-athletes focused on leadership and career success. We know that playing sports builds powerful leadership skills and women athletes have enormous career potential. It’s free to join the CAN community – check out our programs for more information and join our next event!
